Sample of Parts Needed for Volvo 200 series Conversion
(Volvo 700 and 900 series similar)

Note: Don't buy any parts until we can talk, this list just give you an rough sketch of what is needed.

Engine:

  1986 200 H.P. Mustang or 1987-1993 225 H.P. or 96 to 01 Explorer 5.0

Transmission:

  A.O.D. (automatic-overdrive), T-5 5 speed, T56 six speed, or 4R70W auto from a 96-01 2WD Explorer

Volv8 conversion kit:  Custom parts needed to join Volvo body with Ford engine and transmission.  Parts not sold separately.

Ford Engine related parts:

  • E.C.U. (brain) with power relay next to it 

  • M.A.P. sensor and vacuum tree from fire wall 
  • Mass air flow sensor with rubber duct hose 
  • Cruise cable (if your Volvo has cruise control) 
  • Air injection and E.G.R. solenoids 
  • Oxygen sensors from exhaust pipes 
  • Flexplate flywheel with bolts and large dirt shield 
  • Both rubber motor mounts 
  • Mustang headers 
  • Engine wiring harness and harness going to E.C.U. 
  • Air pump tube, goes to exhaust system 
  • Coil, solenoid, throttle cable and V.I.N. 
  • Use all original accessories (alternator, starter, etc.) 
  • Cut off power steering high side hose 
  • Evaporator canister with purge valve 
  • Alternator and A/C compressor clutch plugs with wires 
  • A/C hoses (need both high and low side) 
  • Fuel hose barbs below alternator

Automatic Transmission Related Parts:

  • Ford rear rubber mount 

  • Volvo shift handle and base (if your Volvo is a manual now) 
  • Mustang T.V. cable, lever, and bracket 
  • Mustang dipstick and tube 
  • Transmission cooler pre-bent tubing 
  • Large dirt shield that goes behind flywheel 
  • A.O.D. rear rubber mount such as used on the Mustang 
  • Flexplate flywheel with bolts

4 Cylinder Cars Need:

  • Big Volvo radiator 

  • Dropped center front sway bar 
  • Heavy front springs

Miscellaneous Parts:

  • Electric fan and Ford shift lever 

  • Air cleaner box with mount and ducting hose 
  • Volvo high side power steering hose 
  • NAPA speedometer cable

For Diesel Body Swaps:

  • Volvo fuel pump assembly with mounting tray and hoses 

  • Gas Volvo battery tray 
  • Mustang fuel pump relay with plug 
  • Radiator thermo switch
